Redevelopment to support the autonomy of the most vulnerable.
In December 2023, the Gruppo Abele of Verbania initiated, thanks to the Social Housing Grant from Fondazione Cariplo, renovation work on a disused residential building located on Via Simonetta. The building, purchased by the Association in 2020, is intended for the creation of a Social Housing project.
The plan includes the high-energy-efficiency refurbishment of the three-story structure and the creation of three housing units, providing a total of 12 beds. The units consist of individual rooms with private facilities and a shared living area. One of the three units is designated for a family of four. The entire building will be constructed without architectural barriers to ensure accessibility for all.
The beneficiaries are individuals or family groups in vulnerable situations, with stabilized psychiatric issues or dependencies, who are in the process of reintegration and show potential; former inmates, migrants; victims and suspected victims of human trafficking, coming from protected programs or Reception Centers.
